Licensed Cemetery Manager
A lifelong resident of Rockford, Jeff graduated from Guilford high school and went on to get his bachelors degree in Mortuary Science at the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, MN. A Licensed funeral director since 1990 and a general partner at Julian-Poorman-Welte Funeral Home for 34 years as well as serving as Deputy Coroner in Ogle County for several years. Jeff took over as Operations manager of Cedar Bluff Cemetery in June of 1998. Retiring from funeral home service in March of 2024, Jeff is now working full-time in all aspects of cemetery management, including running the office, record keeping, and sales. He also maintains the cemetery grounds with the mowing, trimming, and upkeep of the grounds as well as locating and preparing graves for burials.
Office hours are generally by appointment, as Jeff is usually out on the grounds. If you need to get in touch, please leave a detailed message on the cemetery voicemail, and he will return your call as soon as he is able.
