Rules & Regulations
Following are answers to some frequently asked questions about the Cemetery’s regulations:
1) Cemetery Hours: Sunrise to Sunset
2) Granite or Bronze memorial markers can be placed only on graves for which full payment has been made. Examples of memorial displays are available for sale at the Cemetery office.
3) Headstones, footstones, and monuments are the property of the customer. Memorial appearance and maintenance are the owner’s responsibility. Cleaning and restoration services may be purchased through the Cemetery office.
4) Graves from recent interments are leveled and seeded as weather permits. It can take up to a year for a grave to settle as rain and snow fall will cause loose dirt around the burial vault to fill in and settle around the vault. Funeral flowers are removed when unsightly or when maintenance is required.
5) Glass vases, free-standing statues, stepping stones, candles, solar lights, fences, mulch, or rock beds are not allowed and will be removed and discarded. No glass decorations of any kind are allowed.
6) All flowers, wreaths, grave blankets, and other decorations will be removed from grave sites twice per year. In the Spring after the snow melts, and in the fall before the snow falls, or as needed. Usually, this takes place in March and November.
7) Any pots, vases, or shepherd's hooks that are not kept up will be removed and discarded.
9) Pets are allowed as long as they are on a leash and are picked up after.
10) Office hours are by appointment. Please call ahead, as we do not maintain an office staff. Our grounds crew are not able to help with finding the location of a burial site.
